I installed Windows Vista and Windows 7 to dual boot. I deleted the MediaDirect partition. Using this guide, what is the path to boot an OS? Or is there a better alternative? Thanks in advance.

The guide you specified is for mapping the button to launch an application, blank the screen, lock the OS, etc. The functionality is for within Windows only. My guide does not cover handling dual boot options.

There are several resources on the net as well as here within the Dell forum of NBR for this. Try the search feature or google. Why would you need to do this though? As soon as you boot up your system you are presented with an option to select your OS...

I understand what you are getting at but...

I tell you how to do it

I assume that you already all your partiions numbers and you know what you want to boot, lets say that this is your configuration:

    Partitions:
    0 - XP
    1- Mac OS X
    2- Seven

If you want to boot, with Media Direct button the OSX partition you have to do this:

A- Start Vista or XP and insert your Dell Media Direct disc, DO NOT RUN THE DISC.
B- open a comand promp (just write CMD in the search box on vista) and tipe this:

    E:\dellkit\rmbr.exe DELL 2 1
    and this work like this:

E is the CD drive where you have your dell media direct CD, if your drive is F change it for F on the command line
2 (which is the first number) is the number of the Partition that you want to boot with the POWER button, in this case is Seven
1 (which is the second number) is the number of the partition that you want to boot whit the MD Button, in this case is OSX.

after you have write your line, make sure every number point to the rigth partition, and press enter, and that's it!! roboot and try, you should know wich partition number you have asigned to yours OSes right?..

Also, do not ask me how install OS X in a PC it against the rules of the forum ;) I used that name like a example, you can do the same for linux, kubuntu or whatever you have in mind

Dude sorry for my bad English! :p
