Just wondering if finding a huge discount coupon on the 1330 or the 1530 is rare?

Unfortunately I can't find my agency on the list. I will be taking some online classes through a local Community College, but not sure if that qualifies me as a student since the classes are online, and are not for-credit classes.

I was wondering how does Dell check on that EPP stuff. If you use paper wastages link it just lets you order it. I actually work for a company that participates in the EPP program but it never asked for any proof of who I work for or anything. If you just go to the Dell EPP site and you don't have an EPP number it just asks you to select what size company you work for or if you are in school or something like that.

Hey, when I ordered my 1530, I ordered thru EPP sales....and they did ask me for my Employer Purchase Number/Employer number. Ater that, we just went thru and placed the order.. ;)

So, I'm not really sure how it works to check *online* Though, when I logged online thru the EEP site...to play with config's and such it always gave me my discount. I suppose I could've ordered thru there...but it was easier for me to talk to a *live* person, and also got any addt'l applicable discounts!

    Cin ;) :)

    check delluniversity.com

select the list, see if ur online university or local college is in there

@somekevinguy, they reserve the right to charge the discount back to your payment type if they find out... and they DO ask for your student ID at checkout, which means they can check if they weant to

As I said when I ordered mine I was never asked for anything. I just used the link from slick deals.

I wouldn't even worry about current coupons or EPP. I would cite the price other people got and list each item they got for that price. I would cite the date your "friend" or "online friend" got that computer for that price and note to the Dell salesperson that so-and-so got his/her computer way back whenever and I'm calling today, which is so many months later, and all I'm asking for is the same deal, I'm not even asking for a better deal.

Tell Dell you know that the Montevina chipsets are ready to go, so you're not even ordering the latest stuff. Tell the salesperson that the online prices and/or the price the salesperson offered you don't make a lot of sense because you feel you're going backwards, you feel you're paying today's prices for yesterday's components while so-and-so you know got the same components for a certain (much cheaper) price so many months ago. And all you're asking for is the same price for the same components, you're not asking for a better deal.

If you've ordered previous Dells, throw that in for sure. If you know of a certain deal posted with a link on some website (there is this Ben guy with his own website, which I'm sure many people here must be familiar with) that expired 2 months ago that lists a really low price and each component, be sure to cite that deal. Doesn't matter that the deal has expired. Why pay more today for the same components offered at a certain price 2 MONTHS AGO?

You don't need to invoke EPP or any current coupons. Be willing to be rejected and be willing to call a new salesperson.
