So I was just reading some old stuff int he XPS forum and was wondering ..(for the people who originally had the RGB screen but their replacement didn't)

Why people just didn't switch the scree/lid onto the new model.. I highly doubt dell would notice the difference

    that would be immoral... ;)

plus it gives you grounds to get upgrades like fastest i7 proc and ssd.

The only issue is if you do have a problem with the screen they will not send you another RGB.

I asked a chat rep if I could do this and after referring to his supervisor they decided an in-home tech could do the switch for me.

That's the way to go. If you just do it without asking it's more-or-less stealing. It's not like you aren't compensated through other upgrades for returning the RGBLED.

P.S. remember that fraud thread from yesterday? This should be closed.

Wasn't implying on doing fraud... it was just the whiny people about not getting the RGB screen again that made me ask

I guess the upgrades are a plus

or you could just do what that other person did and ask Dell if you can switch out the Display on the new one with your RGB Display after they have already upgraded you like here:

Edit: I just realized he already responded to your post (although he didn't mention that he got the upgrades as well so I won't delete my post)
