hi, i am new here so hello! i currently have a dell xps m1710 and was thinking about getting the m1730 but i think i will get the macbook pro instead.

however, i am selling my current model and there is a problem which is really annoying i need help with:

the computer thinks the headphones seem to be in all the time. there is no sound from the speakers and to get the sound i have to push the headphones really hard and pull them out quickly again to get the sound coming from the speakers. so is there anyway to fix this, i tried sticking a long thin rod in to get rid of any trapped material but it still does the same thing!!

please help!! i hope this is in the right section? any help is appreciated

Could be because of something on the inside that is probably bent. Open up your system and see if you can bend it back to proper state.
