This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Question on XPS laptops from Outlet?

    How can you know the build date of the laptop?
    Does Dell install fresh image? If yes is it the same image that was on the original order when ordered NEW or some generic image.

    I got an XPS from outlet with I think Media Direct 3.3 which if it is from the original image then the laptop got to be 1 year old as Dell switched to 3.5 early 2008.
