i have a dell xps m1530 with santa rosa. max fsb is 800mhz. i have a qx9300 montevina processor. max fsb 1066. how do i get it to work with my dell xps m1530? when i installed it the omputer basically acted as i didnt have a processor installed. anyone know a way to get this to work. for my bios to see the processor.

You don't. Its not compatible that way. This is why the m1730s are stuck at the x9000 being the best chip.

man. i see that dell removed the m1730 and replaced it with the alienware 17x. so there is no way to use this quad core?

You can use it with any compatible notebook with a Montevina chipset. The Dell XPS series notebooks will not work, though; they are all Santa Rosa. You can use it with the new Studio XPS series, or the Studio 1555, 1537, or 1737. Probably certain Inspiron models as well.

Should work with the new AW too.
Question about santa rosa and montevina??
