    last question, I promise

Does it hurt the battery to leave it hooked up when you're just sitting at the house plugged into the outlet? I'd like to preserve it for when I actually need it

Um, well, the thing is it's actually running through cycles when you're plugged into AC and the battery is on. So really, you are reducing the battery's life but the technology has come a long away that it would only damage the battery over a long period of time. Here's the battery guide: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=91846 For more information on prolonging battery life and other battery questions.

hmmm, But see..my batt has run fine since I purchased in 1/08...Or, I guess maybe it's just a fluke???? ;)

There are times when it isn't plugged into the AC...I think it depends on the person and how they handle the usage ;) :)
