Im just wondering if anyone has taken steps to protect the glossy finish of their Studio XPS series? I think scratches and stuff will look very noticeable on the black gloss. Maybe there some good sprays or something (like the teflon spray I use to protect my car's plastic)? Would prefer to stay away for skins or anything stick on...since that kind of looks tacky. Car wax perhaps? Ive got some Turtle Wax Ice. Interested in your opinions.

Apparently you can get ZAGG for SXPS 16, but I only see it for the 13. I just am careful to not scratch it and clean prints and dust with water and a napkin.

^Ugh, $40 for that. Anyone have pics of what it looks like once applied? I think skins usually look tacky...was hoping for a spray or something. I dont think using a napkin would be a good idea...it looks like even that may eventually scratch the surface. Ive been using microfiber, or a glasses cleaning cloth.

Also wouldn't the shield expand due to the heat of the laptop and cause irregularities on the surface?

I purchased the LCD liquid spray for $30 from a mall and I am cleaning SXPS 1640 with it. However, there are some few very little and minor scratches have been made..But they are not noticeable.

the glossy top actually seems to resist scratches pretty well; its just a finger print magnet.. i find myself wiping it off all the time, lol

Even the palmrest is huge fingerprint magnet...

I usually, dont clean much. Hardly 1 time a month.

If I see glossy area from a distance say 1 feet, one can not notice scratches, but from near, say 1 or 6 cm, one can notice scratches.
