I just recently bought and received a 3D-capable L702X. I haven't opened up my laptop at all yet to make hardware changes. 3 days ago I installed Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and a few other updates. The next day after starting up my computer I found everything to move extremely slowly. My mouse was fine, but opening application like the Task Manager any even the Start Menu would take forevvveerrrr. I completely formatted my hard drive and reinstalled Windows, but the problems persisted. In addition to this, while downloading Starcraft 2, the installation would stall and say that certain files could not be written due to some unknown error. I researched the problem and found that my hard drive may have some problems so I ran a chkdsk. My chkdsk would never progress beyond stage 4, stopping on the same file number every time. I'm getting extremely frustrated and I honestly have no idea of what to do anymore. I'm wondering if Dell would be willing to replace my hard drive. Any opinions/help would be appreciated.

Dell should replace the HD as long as they can verify that it was not caused by user damage. I would contact dell support and have this attended to. That is if you purchased thru dell. If you purchased thru a third party vendor, go thru them.
