Hey everyone who already has an XPS m1330, I'm looking for some info on installation of Vista x64. It appears as if I'm going to

I'm wondering if anyone has tried it, and if they have run into any problems or gotchas'.

And, more importantly, I'm starting a collection ahead of time of all the drivers I'm going to need, both the 32-bit and 64-bit variants. (I like to have all the latest and greatest drivers in case Dell didn't send the newest release)

So, I'm wondering if anyone has a list of the un-obvious drivers. I know I need the Nvidia graphics card driver, the Intel chipset drivers. But, for example, who makes the bluetooth module, and what ethernet chipset is used, and is there anything special I need for the webcam or the media buttons.

Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

I managed to get WinXP x64 installed with all the drivers...
I guess Vista x64 should be easier...

Trebs thread is an excellent resource. I have been running 64 on my system for about 2 weeks now and would advise...take it one step at a time. You may get frustrated at times but all the little bugs wil work themselves out.

The people here utilizing 64 will jump to help you as well.

The only two drivers that you wont find are the UPEC fingerprint and the soundblaster software...

So the Vista License Key on the bottom of the laptop will work with Vista x64 as well?

Yup!!! And when you have to call in to validate, they will tell you its fully legal as long as that serial number is on only one PC

Sweet! Gonna have to consider loading Vista then. Kinda a bummer about the fingerprint reader not working though.

FPR works and it is in Trebuins downloads but only for logging in and out of the system. You cannot use it for verification of encrypted folders.
