Is anyone actually using it other than me? If not, what are you using and why aren't you using it?

    Thx, Rob

I uninstalled it. If I do decide to use a paid anti-virus, I wouldn't choose McAfee as it has become something of a hog. I'm using Windows Security Essentials. I've also use Avast on other systems and am happy with it as well.

We use security essentials on all the computers in the house except mine. Your answer is exactly what I expected. Do you think there is any need for a better firewall than widows provides?

I'm using it. I'll wait for it to expire before purchasing the latest KIS.

KIS = "Kaspersky Internet Security", I have the 2012 Version, I get it free from my Bank, I have been using it for a few years now and i have had zero virus problems, I do also do periodic scans using other malware scanners.

Windows Security Essentials provides some protection against malware and intrusions beyond just pure anti-virus. If your computer is behind a router, and you're reasonably careful, it's likely all you need.

I just use Microsoft Security Essentials. I never bought into the whole "Internet Security" packages. In my experience they do more harm than good (I'm looking at you, Symantec). I've also never had a virus on my PC, but I also do not download unknown software or open unknown attachments.

I'm using MSE because it seems more efficient than McAfee.
