OK, so I finally received a functional 1640 earlier today and have been getting it set up this evening. I've worked through a few software quirks so far, but one thing I can't figure out is how to make the PowerDVD program that came with the computer play new Blu-Ray movies. A newer movie, such as Transformers will begin and then get stuck at the menu because I won't be able to select any menu items. This is not the case with Disturbia, which is a bit older and plays fine, no menu trouble. I assume I need to download an update for PowerDVD, but it won't let me. It will not allow me to select the "update" option. Do you have any ideas how I could get the dumb program working properly? I think I have version PowerDVD DX 8.2.5408.

Also, for some reason, during the Dreamworks intro thing with the moon and fishing bobber, I always hear a high pitched buzzing sound, like that of a house fly. This happens consistently on every movie, so I know it's not the disc.

Thanks! For some stupid reason, I was able to get the program running properly after hitting the keyboard. I'm not sure if it was enter or the direction keys, though. Anyway, that seemed to do the trick. It sucks that the program has to be so quirky.

None of the updates on cyberlink's website seemed to be applicable to the program that came on my 1640, for some reason. Oh well, if the keyboard trick works, I won't cry too loudly.

Does it have Media Direct? You can play from there.
