Hi, all,
Is it possible to upgrade to the blueray drive afterwards? If so, would I have to order it through Dell, or would any 3rd party drive work?
-
Yes you can upgrade buying from a third party, its much cheaper.
You just need to buy the right type of drive (eg 12.7mm slimline) and right interface (SATA/PATA). After you recieve the drive, you just need to swap the bezels so the drive fits flush into your notebook like it normally was. -
Thanks for the answer. Any recommended brands?

I just realised the xps uses slot drive so theres no need to swap the bezel. You just need check what type of drive you have and do abit of research.
Check how much the Dell Bluray drives are first -
Someone did this on this forum. He bought one from ebay that was cheaper. Do a forum search.
