    I recently got the dreaded " Plugged in, not charging" message in vista of my Dell XPS 1530.My laptop is out of warranty :cry: .I tried all the methods suggested and flashed the bios to A09 from A12.I also checked the BIOS and it says

    Battery Charge = 6%
    Charger = 90W

    Also when I connect the charger the charging light would flash for 5 sec. and then go off.Due to this the battery charge has moved from 6% to 7%.

    I cannot buy a new mbd worth $500 . Any other cure for this ????

    First, please refrain from bumping within a 24-hour period (see Forum Rules). Reviving old threads and posting the same post is not necessary. Thanks.

    Regarding your problem:

    More than likely the cause is your battery. I'm going to venture a guess here and say this is your original battery - correct? If so, replace it with a new one and see if that corrects the issue. The battery will be cheaper to replace vs. a new power supply or mb.

    You can try this dealer - they have fairly decent prices (also I suggest staying away from non-OEM batteries):

    Hmmm... check India's eBay site or one of your local dealers - depending on where you are located of course. See this link for authorized Dell Resellers in India.

    There are also Dell stores you can visit depending on how far away they are - a list can be found HERE and HERE.
