I can't for the life of me figure out what I'm doing wrong with getting my XPS m1530 to recognize that these headphones exist... I can't get them to be found in my bluetooth setup, someone please help me figure this out, thanks so much!

Bluetooth driver available at DELL site doesn't support A2DP stereo Bluetooth Headset profile (among many other additional profiles). You need to install The Widcom driver. I'm using the Bluetooth driver of Asus WL-BTD201M EDR Bluetooth v2.0 dongle (uses same hardware as the DELL 355 module), it works perfect with all the Bluetooth profiles especially A2DP. You can find the Asus driver here :[ Direct link to V.ista 32bit edition, Link to download page ].

So I basically uninstalled the headphones from my bluetooth menu. It's going to take 2 hrs to download this particular driver that you've recommended, so i'm going to wait patiently for it to finish. Do I need to uninstall the existing driver for my dell truemoble 355 bluetooth device?

If you already have the DELL driver, then I think better to uninstall.

hmm thats odd because i have the M1330 with the same bluetooth module and the bluetooth drivers off of dells site (which are the same for the 1530) and my motorola bluetooth headphones work just fine. It even shows it installing a2dp when the headphones are found...

Hmm.. that is very strange. I know 2 other people (one with a an inspiron 1420 and the other with a M1330) had the same problem as me till they installed the Widcomm drivers. Are you sure that you didn’t install any other Bluetooth related drivers or applications other than the DELL driver ? Maybe the headset profile worked with the DELL driver, cant recall correctly; but definitely not the A2DP profile.

ok, thankyou so much for your help phoenix, but after getting frustrated with trying to get that driver downloaded I decided to just throw all caution into the wind and did a factory restore, i'm going to go through and remove software I don't want manually, I did a clean install of vista last time. Anyway, would you believe that as soon as I got the system back up and running I opened the bluetooth panel and installed my bluetooth mouse, it was up and running fast, then I tried the headphones again, and it automatically installed the drivers I needed, and I am sitting here now listening to music and grinning from ear to ear cause they sound frickin' awesome!
