Hey guys I just ordered my Dell XPS M1710 (with T7600/2.33GHz Duo 2 Core) and was wondering if what you can see in the video below applies to my machine too?

So can you just go into the BIOS to overclock your cpu? any experience with that besides the power drain? Thanks

Look and see if your notebook supports overclocking--I think, and don't quote me on this, that only the processors with the "g" suffix offer overclocking support as they are engineering samples... if you have the T7600g you should be able to OC.
There are always risks to pushing a processor beyond its limits--you'll want to be careful primarily of heat that comes with the increased voltage flowing into the CPU. As he mentioned, some chips will run at a significantly higher clockspeed while others may have errors and not run stably (or at all). You'd want to use a program like Prime95 to make sure that you're stable at the speed you choose. I don't really see a huge benefit to OCing the processor if you're gaming--the 1710 is already a beast and the biggest bottleneck is the gpu. If you're number crunching or running processor intensive programs you may see a gain, but as you know, the T7600 is already a very fast processor and the risk may not be worth the slight reward.
If you decide to OC make sure to do the following:
1.) Keep an eye on temperatures.
2.) You may want to invest in a cooling pad or perhaps re-grease the CPU with arctic silver 5 if you find temperatures rising beyond comfort levels.
3.) be aware that you can damage your computer by OCing; you've got to pay to play. -
