I'm ordering my 1645 today, and I'm still unsure as to which resolution I should get. The full HD is nice, but how much will it lower my fps in games?

There was a recent thread about this, and while my XPS has not arrived yet, the general consensus was to go for the full HD screen.

You can always lower the resolution for graphically intensive games as well.

I've had both the 1600x900 and 1920x1080 screen.
I'd vote for the 1920x1080 screen.
I am a fan of higher resolution screen, for lay out and working it gives more usable workspace, for games you can always just play at a lower resolution if it is an issue.

I will tell you after using 1920x1080 on my 1645 I will say go with that. As close to perfect as you can get these days (WUXGA on a 15.4 would be perfect for this size).

My personal thoughts are that 1080 is great, but on a 16" / 15.6" screen it seems a little too much. If i had 900 option last year, I woulda gotten that one. Many will say to get 1080, but how many actually use a full 1080 resolution for games? (I could be wrong, I don't game too much) lol. Yea, finer detail. When it comes to daily use, more space for windows, of course, but if you want the text size to be readable, you end up zooming in anyway, and the final result is the same whether you're on 720, 900, or 1080. The absolute size of the text is still the same on the same physically-sized screen. =) Gluck choosing! I guarantee you will enjoy whichever resolution you end up choosing!

I pretty much always game in 1080. Older games like Left 4 Dead run fine in Maximum details and 1080. In newer games like Starcraft II beta, I play in 1080 and medium details. I usually prefer the higher resolution and medium details (and higher framerate) over 720 and high details (with lower framerate).
