Trying to configure my laptop and I see on Dell's site the options for optical drives.
Listed under Blu-Ray Player is this description: Tray Load Blu-ray Disc BD-Combo (Reads BD and Writes to DVD/CD)
Listed under Blu-Ray Writer: Tray Load Blu-ray® Triple Writer (reads and writes CDs, DVDs, BDs)
There must be some difference as the price for the second one is $75 more.

you're going to kick yourself. The second writes BD, the first does not. Its in the wording.
-
So the first drive reads and writes standard CD's and DVD's. The second, more expensive one also writes Blu-Ray discs. Is that it?
-
Yes, both read Blu-Rays and write CD/DVDs. The second only adds the ability to write Blu-Rays. If you don't need to write to a Blu-Ray, save the money and get the first one.
So yes, you are correct. -
Thanks, gents. One more price reduction I can use.
