Is there a way to purchase a customized dell from a computer shop? I really want to buy my own customized dell but the problem is that I can't buy it online...too risky. If there are no shops which are willing to customize the xps, then is there a way to buy the xps 15.4 inches, 2.4 ghz+, 256 mb nvidia 8600, offline? or any other notebooks which have that have those specs?

There are no shops that will do that offline that are third party retailers. Though you may have some luck going to a Dell onsite store.

Yeah i know that u can customize it online.. but my dad doesn't let me buy things online because of hackers and ppl stealing credit card #'s or something. But do they sell XPSs that are similar to the specs above? (in shops)

Ive not really found any stores that sell customisable Dell systems - not XPS's anyway.

Dell thrives on its online sales - if there were any risks then why would millions of people still order online?

Ordering items online is standard practice now. Use a credit card and you are covered against fraud etc anyway. I've been shopping online for years and have never had any issues whatsoever.

I think you should go for it, tell your dad his card is covered by the card company anyways. Once you make that first purchase online, you'll never stop!
