Is there supposed to be a SPDIF option under control panel>sound?
I was trying to troubleshoot a problem I had when I connected my lappy to
my television. I would get sound in windows through the television when it was connected through the hdmi port, but I didn't get sound when watching DVD movies. With some research I found out that you are supposed to enable or make SPDIF the default playback device under the sound option in the control panel. The problem is I don't see the SPDIF option. I see Speaker/Headphones and HDMI but no SPDIF.

I can get sound to come out on my television when connected with the HDMI cable by setting the HDMI playback device as default but I don't get sound when watching a movie with windows media player.
