    Fresh OS install? Check.

    Installed all the drivers? Check.

    Installed all the software? Check.

Vista Tweak Guide? About to read it...

So what else should I do? I want to run those performance / temperature / FPS tests I've seen people showing screenshots of, but I haven't looked for them yet. Any other suggestions? Any awesome free programs I should get or tests I should run? Anything really...

I'm not sure where to get that system testing software...
I saw one for temperatures, one for performance and one for frames per second.
    I don't know of others...

For monitoring temp' get in HWmonitor from CPUID

Then get either Orthos or prime95 for the CPU stress and stability test test (I would recommend Orthos)

And get in RTHDRIBL, for stressing your GPU.. its a free tool and really nice for GPU stress...

And you may want to get in HDtune for the hard disk tests...

And measure the temp' in evey situation, before and after, run the hwmonitor while running the stress tests so the min/max are recorded as it is...

also check the idle temp' to compare..

And btw, have you got good protection of yous system? in terms of AV / ASW??? More than the free software, you would need this at first... get in to the stick in the security and anti-virus forum and get yourself a good combo security package (this is just in case u did not get any pre-installed when getting the system)

    Good Luck.

Wow, thanks for the info :D

Well I got Norton Internet Security 2008, which I've used for a few years now and I'm pretty happy with. Only problem is it has now "Block Traffic" button like previous versions used to. But I guess with a laptop I can just disable the wireless and unplug network cable, which is pretty easy to do.

NIS 2008 is very good... and NIS 2009 even better, according to intial tests / reviews. Anyways...

I don't think u need to worry much.. Just get used to ur system, follow some general weekly maintenance schedule, keep it clean (both the OS as well as the laptop in general) and it should be running along well with you :)
