I just bought the new Dell xps 13 .. its been good to me so far.

I wanted to know how can I disable battery charging when I'm plugged in to the charger. Even after 100% it keep filling the battery logo (on bottom right..with the plugged in wire icon). On my old Dell with windows 7 I had an option to disable charging.

I couldn't find an anything online... and though you guys can help me out here. Its a new laptop and want the battery to last longer

    Thanks

If I recall there are a number of options in the BIOS regarding charging options on AC, can't remember if your question was an option but worth a look.

Not sure if you did this yet.
    In BIOS, go to
Power Management >Primary Battery Charge Configuration.
    Select Custom.
This option will start battery charge at 50 & stop at 90.
You cannot begin charge below 50.
Would have been better if the start charge was open-ended but.....

    Tom.

Thanks for the info. Will this help prolong the life of the battery? Any other tips for making the battery last longer?
