My XPS M1710 started to show vertical green lines during boot up, then would go to a black screen. So I restarted in safe mode, then disabled the video card.
It starts & runs fine now, no green lines, just reduced video performance, obviously. This shows there is a problem with the video card. What is the best option now? New, used, or do they fix these?

    Thanks!

If you are still under warranty ( which i doubt ) then dell will fix it, if not then dell can replace your gfx card and will charge you the cost of the card plus shipping.

maybe time for a new laptop ? :D

Its warranty is over. You're saying they would come & replace it, for just the cost of the card???

I could do it myself, but if they will do it, I'm all for that! :D
