I'm not one who normally gets emotional over much, but when I pulled this lappy out of the box and turned it on, it was love at fIrst site! Havn't tried any games on it yet. im currently into "Prey" and im assuming it will play really good. The red LCD color looks awsome too. ive wanted to get this lappy for months now. I however just couldnt rationalize paying four grand for a laptop. Fortunately for me, with the use of a 30% off coupon along with an additional 12% EPP discount, the machine became somewhat affordable and I took the plunge. im glad I did. So to any M1710 users out there, how does it play your favorite games?

Oh, forgot to add that the only thing that bothered me a little were all the programs that loaded at startup. I havnt gone through them thoroughly yet, but hopefully I dont need most of them at startup.

Congratulations on the XPS. I was also very impressed with my review model's overall look and feel. Keyboard is especially nice.

it came to $2,417.18 before taxes. Plus the $100 dell gift card that ill hopefully be receiving soon. I also received a free upgrade to overnight shipping, so that was a nice cherry on top of the ice cream.

Thanks everyone! Special big props to mZimm for the help he provided. I ordered the system Monday morning and it arrived on Friday. I thought about reformating, but figured id try uninstalling most of the bloatware first as to avoid any problems with the media direct feature. Speaking of that. Does anyone know here if its safe to uninstall the Dell CinePlayer? When I said safe, I meant do either the MediaDirect or Windoiws Media Center programs need that as a DVD decoder that to play movies? Or do they have their own independent dvd decoders? Thanks!

I meant to thank you as well Chaz. One of the first things I did after I registered here was read your review of the M1710. its a great laptop for sure! I will admit, im having a little trouble getting used to such a high resolution (text is very small on some sites) im sure it will pass soon/
