I am new to this form..I just purchase a xps 1645 w/ i7 processor. This machine seem to freeze up. When I search the internet it seen this computer has a history of doing this. Dell did a bios update yesterday and it hasn't locked up today yet..I have a 90 watt power adapter. I was worndering it I should upgrade to a 130 W adapter because of the processor. Any thought on that.

Adapter won't help with the freeze up.

Yes, get your new 130 watt adapter. If you haven't done a clean install, do that as well. I had mine freeze within minutes of firing it up when it was new. Did a clean install and no freezes since.

FYI, I did not have to do a clean install to fix my issue, although you can do that if you wish. Check out the thread I linked to. Lots of ideas there.

I'd still do a clean install and get rid of all the crapware.
