    Hey...

Sunday..I had a "Cin' Oops"..Those that know me, know I tend not to be so "graceful" sometimes..  :(

I am always, always, careful with my lappy ~ esp. with this XPS 1640 being nearly brand new (Edit: I was told to add I've only had it for a bit over 3 weeks) XD!! But Sunday I was lifting my lappy off of my end table and lost my grasp, and it dropped to the floor (not far), but enough to do some external (no sure of internal) damage.

I got on Dell Chat today at lunchtime, and "thankfully" my Complete Care/Accidental covers things like this! :)

I have "On Site", so they are ordering the Undercarriage, Sides, and Touch Pad for replacement of what was damaged.

The Technician should be here by Thursday to repair.

Damage appears to be limited to the Batt' Adapter port, and cracked near (to) the Esata Port...The DVD drive seems to be working, as it played a movie for me.

I'm glad I didn't have to send it to Depot for repair, and I requested the OnSite Tech I had last time (based on the previous one before him)..to do the Repair.

So, hopefully all will be ok going forward after the repair..and a "oops" like this won't happen again.

I am really glad the screen didn't crack or anything further... :) So, Complete Care does pay itself off!

Here are pics' of "my bad oops"....

Dell is replacing my lappy with a new XPS 1640 :D

I got very lucky! She will be Red again, of course! ;) :) Scarlet3  XD

Sames specs, possibly upgraded processor!

Build time once again, about 3 weeks.

You're going to beat me for number of new laptops in one year. At least the accidental warranty is paying off.

Haha, we can be exchange buddies... mine just got processed the other day! =P
(Also a *new* XPS 1640, thanks to Dell's less than prompt build times.)

Oh no!! When do you expect to receive your specs? Or, where exactly are you in your Order stage? I won't prolly see mine I'm expecting for about 5-7 days. And the complete order for at least 3 weeks...If all go's according to the last build. :( Which is fine, Scarlet2 still works.

And, yes we can keep each other updated on how our process is going!
