    Can I use a Compaq mouse on my Dell laptop?

    If you're referring to an external USB mouse, then sure!
    Your Compaq mouse will work on any laptop and desktop.

    Yes, it's not a "wireless" mouse, but I plug it into the USB port.

    Yep. It will work on any computer, so long as that computer has USB ports.
