    Hi everyone,

I noticed that the blu-ray burners in the in the m1530 and m1730 are both 12.7mm drives. (UJ-225 and UJ-220 respectively) So could I use the m1730 drive in my m1530? Thanks!

The M1530 uses the slot loading optical drive whereas the M1730 uses tray loading.

No, the slot loader on the 1530 is just that, a slot about the widht and height of a dvd, on the side of the case.

In order for the 1730's drive to work, you'd have to cut a hole in the side of the case to allow the tray to slide in and out, I.e they have totally different mechanisms and thus are incompatible.

Just because it is the same size doesn't mean it is going to work. The tray can't slide out if there is only an open space for a disc.
