Hello! This is a problem purely created by me.

I'll start off by explaining why exactly I need to reinstall windows.

It all begins with me needing programs such as ISO imagers and burning programs, but asking for them on the wrong forums. I downloaded some and then I of course received a bit of spyware/adaware on the side. As many of you know this sometimes replaces files in the registry and likes to dig itself deep into the system files. Well I found a decent spyware removal program and ran it of course at the end of the process telling it to remove all spyware found. #

After every piece was removed I restarted my computer. Then like always I logged in under my profile only to find that windows explorer wouldn't start, no start bar no desktop icons, nada. So I decided to maybe see if I could run some applications through process manager. Then I get the normal idea of restarting again to see if it would maybe fix the problem. Unfortunately this only increased my problems, now when it gets to the screen with the options for user profiles and I click on my profile (or any other profiles available) it says logging on and then brings me only to the desktop picture, then after a number of seconds (or sometimes instantly) it logs back off to the profiles screen. Not letting me even use process manager.

I have a lot of data and irrecoverable photos such as notes and vacation pictures which I need off of there before I reinstall windows. However when a friend and I attempted to boot from the windows install disc (professional) it reported that the drive was not connected. Through some other forums and other peoples problems this was meant by the system that the A: drive was not present and some drivers which would accompany it were also not present.

My question is first if anyone has had this problem, and second if anyone has a solution for a clean non-data damaging repair of windows. Possibly a way to trick it into believing there is an A: drive and that it has the requested drivers. If not then possibly which box I should use to connect my hard drive to my friends computer as to transfer the valuable data off. Sorry but I'm not entirely sure what kind of a harddrive plugin it has because I don't have any screwdrivers over here so I haven't taken it apart.

Please help me I'm dying of boredom!!! ='(

P.S. I'm currently on a school computer so exact specs of the computer are not available other than it has a GTX 8800 nvidia graphics card and dual mounted 300 GB (approximately) harddrives equaling 600GB and 4000 MB of ram. If you think any other information would be useful please reply and tell me I'll go home and check it tonight.
