My M1530 is about 3 weeks old and I just started noticing that the little silver panels to the left and right of the black bar with the XPS logo/power button/media buttons are slightly loose and stick up a bit. Does anyone else have this issue?

I can push them back into place since they don't stick up much yet, but I was wondering if it was common or not, or if it was worth contacting Dell about since it is really not very noticeable unless they start popping up more in the future.

I had the same problem, I took it apart and fixed it the right way.

Mind if I ask what you did? Is it something that needs to be snapped into place, or glued in?

my right one sticks up a tiny bit when i got it.

when the dell technician came out to fix mine, she didnt put it back correctly, i had to remove the black bar and then push the piece in, then replace the back bar.

it seems the black bar has a small lip that helps hold the piece in.

Take out the battery and unplug the laptop. Behind the battery are 3 screws, unscrew them. Now open the laptop and lift the black bar but be careful, there are wires attached to it. The black bar is annoying to get off and reseat the side plastics and your good. Now do the reverse to get it back to normal.
