I am talking about the part of the casing that is right above the 2 USB ports, mine feels a little bit loose. It's not coming off or anything, but it will slide form side to side slightly. The opposite side is not loose like that so I wonder if it's normal.

It is also a little hard to pull usb out of the top left usb port. Is your laptop like that too, or is something off with mine?

Both of these things are completely standard for M1530 users!

    Hope this helps.

It often happens if somebody removes the touchstrip (black panel with power button and the touch sensitive buttons) and doesn't put it back properly.

It could also be that the part just fits loosely.

Just check mine..it looking fine.. :)
But as described above, some users have had this happen!

If it's really a bother, you can contact Dell for a fix. ;)

it's fine to be loose... it is the part that covers the screws to the display assembly and also secures the touchstrip in place... as long as it doesn't fall out on it's own, good

Mine was loose until Dell changed my motherboard. Now it's not. :)

Yeah. Also before they replaced my motherboard, the black strip had a bit of bounce to it right near the NumLock key. Now it doesn't. *shrugs*. Must've been a screw missing or something. It all feels a lot snugger now. Another M1530 I've used had the same thing also, the loose panel. I'd say it's fairly common, nothing to worry about really.

They had to replace mine cuz the brick/adapter wouldn't hold a charge...(I said there was a problem w/the socket..and they wouldn't do any soldering)...My batt' wouldn't hold a charge.. :(

So, they replaced the Motherboard, and I asked for a new brick/adapter..and they gave me one!! Since then, all good w/the brick/adapter & Motherboard!

And, when they replaced the Motherboard it smoothed out that tiny bump I had near the power button! :D

So, it's cool all worked out well with your M.board replacement!
