This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     M1530 and ASUS VH242H

    I bought a new monitor today (ASUS VH242H, resolution 1920x1080). I will mostly be using it for PS3 gaming, however I also want to connect it to my M1530 to watch movies etc. When I connected my laptop to the monitor I had the following problem. If I choose the max resolution from my display settings (1920x1080) I get black bars all over the monitor (not just top and bottom). THe max resoulution I can get without bars is 1680x1050. Does anyone have the same problem with a similar monitor and can offer some help.
