    Hi, Guys

Another question about the screen - if I'm reading the Dell UK details correctly we can only get the 1280x800 screen. I'm not a gamer but do a lot of photo editing, so is it a real problem for me?

And, I've read the comments about the glossy screen, but seeing how many of you love this machine, presumably its ok as long as you don't use it outside, or with your back to a window. Is that a reasonable conclusion?

ring up to order and you can get a 1440x900 (WXGA+) screen for £35 extra. I think the 1680x1050 screen is available too, not sure though.

good thought, thanks, I've only looked at the website. The top spec with the blu ray drive is about £300 off until 9 Jan, so the extra for the screen might be possible.

is there any point in upgrading to the wireless n mini card for most of us, given that there's no 'standard' for n yet?

I'm not an expert on photo editing, but if the photos you edit are larger than 1280x800, you should probably get a higher resolution.

yeah live chat told me that too, phoned up the sales line and they said it was an option and I now have a quote sent by them via email that clearly states 1440x900 screen.

On second thought, you might be better off getting a matte external monitor. Any laptop LCD is likely too small and too glossy.

I'd wondered about that, using my existing monitor which is 'good enough'.

Why aren't they offering the higher res on line do you think? Just clearing stock?

They not offering the 200gb 7200rpm on some m1530 models too.

would be good as i can then use the 10% discount code, 4% quidco and 4% cashback on credit card. Dell won't do me 14% over the phone.
