    Hi all,

Just receied my new M1530 today and was excited to start using it but right out of the box I have an issue that just doesn't seem normal. The power adapter, when plugged in to the unit, seems like it has way too much play in it then it should. I have an old Latitude with the same power adapter and even tried it - same thing. When looking at the plug from above, I can see part of the silver plug...something that just doesn't seem normal.

Is this a normal occurance for what is a higher-end laptop? Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

Yep thats normal, the power cable is a bit loose and you will always see the metal part when plugged in, i think its sorta nice, not having resistance when plugging in my laptop, its just like Puk! ... so dont worry, now if it starts to unplug with only its weight, then it is an issue dell should fix.

I agree with Koer on this! :D Your good. The only time you need to worry is if it get's really *loose* and your battery stops charging. This happened to me, and Dell ended up replacing the motherboard vs. soldering the socket where the adapter go's into! ;)

    Cin ;) :)
