    Hi Everyone,

I just recently purchased a new M1530 and have been very happy with it so far but with one exception. When I try to load alot of webpages at once or download a large file, my connection seems to drop or hang temporarily. I notice this because the webpages stop loading and the download hangs for a while then picks up again. I have tried doing a continuous ping to my gateway and load some webpages; I notice the response time gets high (100+ms) when just loading a single webpage and when downloading a file, the connection times out for a few seconds or up to afew minutes. I have tried installing the latest intel drivers and also tried reseating the wireless card but have had no luck so far.

Has anyone ever had this problem or know of a potential fix?

I have tried connecting to both wireless N and G access points but the problem persists.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

typical issue with intel cards... they have the worst drivers i have ever seen
where i work intel cards have major issues: they fail to connect to wpa2, aes encryption with 8021x authentication. they would also get some weird command on this network and physically turn off, even though the switch would be in ON position.
call dell and get a Dell branded wifi card. get the dell 1505 or 1510. i got the 1505 in exchange. tell them u will change it yourself and they will send u one.
broadcom chips are more stable and work better.

I'd start installing the latest driver regardless which driver revision Dell offers currently. This is v12.1.0.14. Here just the link to the 32-Bit Vista version, you'll find other versions on intel's site:
    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det...dows Vista* Business, 32-bit version&lang=eng

Although intel recommendes to activate power saving settings:
    http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-024509.htm

They also post information that these power saving settings don't work for certain accesspoints well:
    http://support.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-006205.htm

Sometimes the wireless adapter just gets to hot. It helps to reduce transmission power in device manager. Though I have to admit that I don't have any information whether this "getting too hot" also applies for the 4965AGN. Still: you can set the transmission power.

I have tried this driver from intel, but cannot get to install. Although it is a zip file there is no install file. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but never had this problem before with a zip file. Any advise?
