    Hi All !

I have a weird one for yous...

Tonight I turned on my Dell M1530, and the usual media lights lit up, and nothing.

After some playing around, I found that the LCD back light didnt work.

Connected to an LCD TV, via HD cable, and no problems, the laptop seems to be working fine.

I initially suspected that the back light had blown out.

However, the freaky thing is, when I very rapidly close the lid & reopen, the backlight flashes(as in the screen flashes), so I can see my desktop, for a split second. Then darkness again.

I took the magnet from the tilt sensor thingy(in the top, beside the camera), and rolled it over the sensor in the palm rest, and the same thing, it flashes for an instant, but clearer(as im not swinging the lid, so no distraction).

    So, what does that mean???

Anyone know how to fix it ??

I really hate to have to buy an LCD screen, and worse still, find out that that isnt the problem !

It's probably a fault with the display cable connecting the LCD to the motherboard... you can try to reseat said cable, and if that doesn't work, you'll probably need to replace it.
