After considering many different coolers for my M1530, I've finally narrowed it down to these 3 choices. I was hoping those of you who have first hand experience using these coolers with the M1530 could give me some input on how effective these coolers are and how much your temps have dropped. If possible please let me know:

    Which cooler did you use?
What was your gpu temps (idle and max) without and with the cooler?

Here are my primary concerns with each cooler, perhaps you can confirm with me if whether or not its true.

NZXT Cryo LX - This cooler seems to be the best with the fan positions towards the back, where the air intake vent is located on the M1530. However, I'm a little concerned that the grill looks more restrictive than on other coolers, and not sure how this will effect the actual air output. The cost on these things are also quite high and I'm not too sure if its worth 70 dollars.

CoolerMaster Infinite- According to Cooler Master, it's designed to cool a greater surface area other than just where the fans are. However I would still like to hear from someone with experience on whether or not it actually gets a good amount of air into the air intake vent of the M1530.

NC2000- Everyone seems to love this cooler, however I'm concerned that the fans are located too much towards the front and would not get any air to the back where the intake vents are.

As of the moment, I'm strongly considering the Cooler Master Infinite as its considerably less expensive (about 40 dollars shipped) than the other 2. However I would still like to hear from someone who has used it with the M1530.

    Thanks guys

Without my Targus cooling mat idle at 43/60, with my cooling mat I idle at 38/50.

I've not benchmarked its effectiveness at cooling during gaming.

I've got the NC2000, and I just bought the NZXT Cryo LX. My initial experience is that the NZXT cools the GPU of the M1530 a bit better, but the NC2000 provides more cooling to the hard drive. This makes sense because of the respective location of the fans. But neither cooler is going to make a huge difference in temps. I like the build quality and design of the NC2000 more. Its edges are more rounded, it's got a lower profile and my M1530 sits more solidly on it because it has a more planar surface. But for cooling the GPU, the NZXT is probably a slightly better choice for the M1530.

i feel ya on that. i use the cryo LX too, and i use my m1530 to watch movies and game so i'm more concerned with GPU and CPU temps. the highest HDD temp i saw after 3 consecutive benchmarks was: 37c or 38c.

houstoned, what kind of peak gpu temps do you get with and without the cryo LX?

After reading the review on this forum about the NC2000 for the M1530, I decided to cross it out as one of my choices.

I'm mainly now trying to decide between the Cryo LX and the CM Infinite. Cheapest prices I can find for them is 60.00 and 41.00 shipped respectively. Has anyone used either of these with the M1530 and can give me input on their temps with and without cooler? I'm a little concerned since my GPU peaks out around 83 C while playing mass effect (o/c to 589/775)

Where did you find the NZXT Cryo LX for $60 shipped if you don't mind me asking? Cheapest I've found was $67 + $12 shipping on ebay. Cheers

    peak GPU temp @ idle: without - 65c / with - 56c
    peak GPU temp @ benchmark tests: without - 74c / with - 72c

the bench tests didn't give big gains cuz the laptop's fans barely even kicked in with the cooler. if i had turned up my fan speeds, i would have yielded a greater difference. note that i also haven't done any "real" stress testing with the cooler yet. these are just initial tests. no cool-down periods. i just did the "with" tests right after i did the "without" tests.

and i also noticed my idle temps drop an additional 3c-5c on top of my posted numbers if i left the cooler on for 30 mins+. sometimes droppin my HDD and CPU temps to the upper 20's.
