I have an M1530 that has the 8600M video adapter in it.

Currently I am using the Dell 176.44 driver and I am wondering if that is best. I notice from time to time that my desktop display gets very slow where the window tracking is not smooth like normal.

I don't play games on this laptop, as it is purely for business use, but I do use programs like Photoshop, Dreamweaver, GIMP.. and other design applications.

So what is the best driver? Also do I need to install the Ageia PhysX Card driver? I haven't yet, but would that fix my current issues?

Nvidia's 179.28, http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook_drivers.html, is a very stable driver and should give you better performance. Just make sure you have BIOS A12 before installing. I'd try it first as it includes PhysX (though I'm not sure if this would help).

I use 180.84 - they seem nice and stable. You can get them from laptopvideo2go :]
