    Hey all,

Just thought I'd post about my M1530. I've been looking to get one for a while now but at the lowest price possible. All the quotes I was confin' was about £750+ so I started to look at the Dell Outlet store. There were a few good ones until last week at which point everything seemed to have sold out which was annoying. I was told by a mate that Dell were selling Refurbished Laptops like from the Outlet on ebay so I thought I'd give it a go.

From what I could see what they were offering, it seems pretty good. The feedback they were getting from customers was quite good and the specs on the machines weren't bad. I saw a couple T8100/T8300/T9300 go by. I eventually won:

    (What do y'all think?)

I was hoping to get a T8100 but looking around at the forum the difference between T8100 and the T7500 were minor for what I wanted really. I was quite lucky to win this one cause its got a 9-cell battery which is another £100 saved. The only downside is the 2gb RAM which I'll upgrade when I need it.

I seriously recommend someone looking for a laptop to try the ebay store. The same machine configured as new (subbing my T7500 for a T7250 in the shop) comes to £778 all-in whereas I've paid £565 all-in and the warrant is the standard one aswell.

I've made the payment earlier today for a delivery date of 04/06 and I'll post again once I've got it to let you know how it all went! Its a 1440x800 screen so hopefully it'll turn out ok and not grainy!!

First of all, congrats on the win!

Depend on what you use your laptop for, the T7500 is alot slower comparing to my T9300.. But hey if you dont need the extra speed and processing power, you're saving money.. I personally hate how the 9 cell sticks out, it totally make the laptop not portable anymore, and I think it looks ugly, but that's just me.. I would have recommended a LED LCD instead of a CCFL LCD, the LED is brighter and saves more power..

Upgrade the ram to a 4GB, you'll notice the difference, and that's what I'm doing, ordered a 2GB and gonna buy a 4GB kit off newegg or Fry's for like $50 USD..

the 7500 isn't really that much slower I have the T8100 and I was just playing Crysis perfectly well at medium setting. Considering how much I saved I and more than have with my purchase. For £480 I got a machine worth £800! Can't get much better than that.

Nope, not a lot slower. Slower, yes, but not by a lot.

Refurb laptops come with a 1yr warranty still.

I am sure some people don't mind or aren't even bothered if its a Penryn.

so what  At same clock speed in most cases Merom is only slow by about 10% compared to Penryn.

I think OP good a good deal overall. Not everyone runs CPU intensive apps all the time, therefore the difference is hardly noticeable..
