I've been hearing a little about a new laptop that could be releasing in July that would be the M1530's successor. I was looking around and can't really find out much about it. When is it releasing and what exactly is it?

My M1530 will start shipping in August so I might go for this new one if it releases early in July and it's worth it.

Damn, I'm seriously considering canceling my order after hearing all these freakin July release rumors.

Would it really be worth it though? I mean, my machine is gonna have a 2.5 T9300, will the successors have processors that much better than the Penryns? I'm assuming they will have better graphics cards as well...

The new ones will still feature Penryn CPUs. The CPUs aren't changing, the chipset is. the newer chipset will add support for DDR3 ram and will be a little cooler running and slightly more power efficient. It seems like a lesser deal then some people are making it out to be.

There will be new Penryns to accompany Montevina.

Hm, it doesn't really seem like that big of a deal. I do like some of the colors, but I'm sticking to the XPS I have ordered.

The Studio line won't be released with Montevina (blame Intel for that lol).

I think Studio is one class below XPS.

WHHYYY? God. Please, don't start this again. There's a whole thread about where the Studio will fall. Nothing against you, just warning you of what will probably occur due to this comment.

Get the M1530 if they come out with another 25% off discount, which I doubt they will.

After looking at the specs, they really arn't as good as the M1530, thank god, so its still an edge below. A lot of the features like backlit keyboards, etc were never added, so the Studio line doesnt really have anything that actually shines above the M1530. They dont even offer WSXGA+ resolution or LED backlit for all resolutions.

I think its gotten to the point where Dell is noticing that since the M1530 and M1330 are such great laptops, whats the point of changing the formula now with a new refresh? They are already getting a ton of orders for both of those notebooks but have been weak in the Inspiron line. With the new Inspiron Studio, both laptop series will have great sales, perhaps enough to beat out HP?

I already ordered M1530 with $599 off this past Sunday. As for Studio, if it is the next M1530 successor, we'll have to see when it is out.

The montevina's aren't THAT much better than what we have now, Yes the DDR3 RAM will be kickass but my T9300 with 4GB RAM will be good enough for a couple of years

Definitely not, they are up now and are very lackluster.
