Okay. So I am planning on getting either the M1330 or the M1530. I know the 1530 is basically just an enlarged version of the 1330. Please assume that I am buying the base unit (No upgrades), and assume that I will only be doing it for basic things (Schoolwork, Notes, Internet, Messenger, etc.)

    Which one should I get?

Hi! When I was looking at the 1330 vs. the 1530 ~ I was torn between both of them. It was a "struggle" which one to go with. I also had somewhat similar uses to what you are going to be using the lappy for.

After looking at the pros & cons, going to a store and looking at the 1330, I ended up going w/the 1530 because I actually like the 1440x900 resolution. I also took into consideration the feedback that I received from other's here on both the 1330 & the 1530!!

Both, I feel are great machines, and I am very, very happy w/my choice!! :)

Ultimately, I think it is going to end up being your decision, though...and what you really want from your future lappy!! ;) :) Good luck!!!

none of the laptops will work for you, you need the latest m15x from alienware. :)

but seriously, you answered your own question "basic stuff" will work on any laptop, even $400 one...

If you need portability and you will be carrying your notebook around get the M1330. if you like to have a nice big screen and dont mind a little extra heft get the M1530.

In terms of cutting edge, the M1330 is pretty revolutionary, it's really thin, light, has LED screen support etc. In that sense it's special.. you'll see it mentioned in the news as a competitor to the macbook air.. just because it has performance as well as being really small and portable. But if small and portable is not what you want... go for the M1530.

But you might find yourself wishing you had a bigger screen.. which is where the M1530 comes in.. It's basically the M1330 with a bigger screen...
