    I have the Dell XPS M1330, on Vista x64 Home Premium, with "Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Module (Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR)" installed

    Release Date: 1/26/2007
    Version: 6.0.1.3100&FW216, A00

    trying to setup syncing..... Samsung Blackjack II already have a USB connection to my desktop, but i want to do it over BT on my laptop

    on laptop, installed windows mobile device center 6.1 from microsoft website

    used phone to initiate connection to laptop, phone found laptop, (set up passcode...) and phone-> chose Activesync as one of the options

    on bluetooth options, added an incoming COM4 port..... in windows mobile center, changed setting to COM4 port......

    on phone, went to ActiveSYnc, tried COnnect via Bluetooth, but nothing happens... Activesync reports Cannot conenct to PC

    What I do is connect with bluetooth first, like link the laptop and phone together and then go into activesync on my phone and click connect with bluetooth.

    i mean after you click "Connect with Bluetooth" in ActiveSync in phone, the Windows Mobile Device CEnter in laptop will popup and do its thing(installing, synching....)?

    and did you use the phone to find the laptop, or laptop to find the phone?

    EDIT:
    i mean i think the bluetooth connection is okay, but theres a port problem:
    BLuetooth linked, service selected:

    Well I pair the two. I used the computer to detect the phone, then enter in a passcode for the phone and computer to share with eachother. Once paired, it finds its own drivers for a little while, then I connect them together with Activesync by selecting connect with bluetooth on the phone. I have an AT&T Tilt running with Tmobile, also known as the TyTn II. I think it might be your windows firewall blocking the connection?

    dont think firewall blocks any of the ports...

    did u ever have to add any ports? (eg on phone, did u have to go to bluetooth->add outgoing port->(your computer name)-> COM PORT x?, or on your computer (COM PORT-> add incoming port)< or your compter (Windows Mobile Device Center Settings(Did you choose bluetooth or COM PORT x?)

    No I never had to add any ports. You also might want to check out the ActiveSync software on Windows. I heard sometimes unchecking the enable advanced network functionality works. I think this will solve your problem as the advanced network thing uses ports and stuff. I don't remember if it was on the computer or the phone but definitely check but and turn that feature off.

    what system are you running>

    im running vista x64 home premium... and to install Dell's Bluetooth package, i had to install another bluetooth package(dell's package asked u to press fn+f2 to enable radio during installation, but that key dont work... and the bypass was to install another package first).. maybe that messed me up

    well, i've paired the phone to the laptop...
    at the laptop's bluetooth device settings, i see my phone as
    <name>
    PassKey Enabled

    when i go to activesync in the phone and do menu->Connect via Bluetooth, the lapto's bluetooth goes

    <name>
    Passkey Enabled
    Connected

    and Activesync on the phone goes Connecting...... Attention required

    menu-> ... shows 'disconnect', which means my phone is connected to the laptop..... hwever, windows mobile device center doesnot popup :(

    and i reformated my laptop before doing this... no firewall/antivirus

    EDIT: now im trying to use the calbe to connect to the laptop..... windows mobile device center doesnt pop up either... :(
