Sorry for yet another 1330 post regarding flaws but I'm really not sure what to do. I've had mine for around 2 weeks now... I checked it over as much as I could for flaws when it first arrived, nothing major from what I could tell. However, a few things have come to light...

1 dead pixel in the middle left of the screen...

The back of the LCD screen has bumps towards the base of the silver strips, both sides, virtually on the hinge. (more of a cosmetic annoyance than anything else)

Few other things here and thre but it's the deadpixel that's really bothering me.

    What do you guys think?

With the laptop I have (a Zepto), the company has the policy that they will replace the screen for free if there's any pixel-errors in the first 14 days. After that i think there has to be like 5 errors in a couple of square-inches. Perhaps Dell has a similar policy?

yep Dell will replace it if the system is still within 21 days, but after that, dead pixel should be at least 6 since 1-5 is industry standard

If the dead pixel is the only thing interfering with the use of your laptop, call them up and get them to send a tech to replace the screen.

Or call them up and ask about a discount for keeping it. I got $400 off because of small cosmetic problems with mine.

Does it whine loud? if it does then return it and pray to get one of the 5% of 1330s that don't whine... if not then just ask them to replace those pieces :D

Thanks for the advice... will call them tomorrow and see what I can get. Perhaps it's not worth replacing the screen for only one. I hate he whole 'pot luck' thing with LCD screens and dead pixels!

Is it 1 month for a full refund? Or am I too late already?

The whine is there but not that loud... Most places I use my laptop I can't hear it at all.
