    Hi,

Windows XP - 8 touch sensitive buttons dosn't work ! How to activate them... drivers ?

I followed this instruction to install windows XP. I loaded all necessary drivers and I don't have any yellow flags in my device manager, but one very important feauture dosn't work. M1330 has those 8 buttons (to navigate DVD/CD drive and change sound setting). Those touch sensitive buttons dosn't work. I tried everything and now I am surfing the web for about 5 hours and haven't found solution yet. I can't even eject my CD (of course I can right click on the drive in window but it would be nice to have those buttons operated.

Are those related to media direct any how? Do I have to have Media Direct installed in order to make those buttons works ?

I hope I will find an answere in here.

    Thanks,

    Andrew

I dont think there are "separate" drivers for the media controls. I assume they are part of the chipset (or some other "package").

You certainly dont need Media Direct for those buttons to work. I dont have that, and neither the recovery or diagnostic partitions, and the buttons work fine under XP.

If you followed the instructions on the XP installation thread, you shouldn't have any yellow ! under device manager. What else is not working (i.e., have yellow !)?

THe CD and bolume buttons hould work without any drivers.. Check to see if the CD eject button works while in the BIOS.. If it doesn't, then you probably need a Central Control Cover replacement.
