My power jack (AC Adapter Connector) is extremely loose. My computer can run on power but the battery won't charge. I've tried different OEM AC adapters and no change. View attachment 89433

What exactly is causing it to be loose? Looking at the picture and disassembly guide, it looks like a screw is holding it in place. Could a lose screw explain why my battery isn't getting charged? It seems like the wires wouldn't be holding the power jack in place.

What would be a fair price to have this issue resolved by a technician?

Also - from what I am seeing, I'd just need to remove the palm rest to get a quick look at the power jack. Right?

The screw is really not relevant to the the undetected adapter issue; it's whatever is inside the little box that may be "loose". You should replace the jack and cable (it's one part) and see if you still have the issue. If you do, then you probably have a motherboard issue.
