The left button isn't working on the touchpad. I am not sure if it is a driver problem. The right button is working, and the touchpad in itself is working just fine. I was wondering what could be wonky about it. Thanks.

Any advice by any chance? It is important that someone who knows more about this than me respond.

Did you go into the Synaptics menu (mouse options) and look under "buttons" to make sure the left button is still set to "primary click"? If that's still set correctly it sounds like it might be a hardware issue, in which case it's probably warranty time.

I'm pretty sure the touchpad is built into the palm rest, at least from what I could tell, so they'll probably have to send you the whole palm rest assembly.

Ps.. you can always try reinstalling the Synaptics driver, i'm sure Dell will ask you to do that anyway.

on the win7. not install touchpad driver, you can use normal touchpad fuction, included left/right click. if not how can you install driver without external mouse ? so, your touhpad spoil.
