    Hi guys,

I recently picked up for an absurdly cheap price this Philips 32" TV. Great specs, but it has this bizarre design whereby:
    1) If you plug in an HDMI source, you do not get an option to disable overscan. It overscans horribly, which is not good for displaying computer output...
    2) If you plug in a DVI source using a DVI->HDMI cable, it activates some kind of 'PC Mode' with different menus and no overscan!
(Oh, and 3) no VGA port)

I've tested this with multiple sources. Even tested with an ATI 6570 card in a desktop: when using its DVI output and a DVI->HDMI cable, the TV behaved right; using its HDMI output, boom, overscan. I have no idea exactly what subtle difference between DVI and HDMI the TV relies on to activate PC mode (somebody suggested it could be color mode, but I tried setting a bluray player to output RGB, and it didn't trigger the PC mode options)

I'd like, ideally, to hook this thing up to my L502x and use it as a mirrored display. Straight HDMI -> HDMI obviously doesn't work, so I'm wondering if anybody has experience with this and any suggestions. I'm thinking a miniDP to DVI adapter, then a DVI to HDMI cable, perhaps?
