Does anyone else's notebook creak? On mine, pressing down anywhere on the left edge of the palmrest (in the hard drive area) results in the plastic flexing and causing a horrible noise.

I love the 1080p screen on this laptop, but this seemingly minor issue is extremely irritating and makes the machine feel very cheap.

One of the clips might not be inserted corrrectly - apply some hard force down on the palm rest and see if it clicks into place.

You might want to remove it first and "reinsert" it back into place to make sue everyting is aligned correctly.

Thanks for the suggestion, I took the palmrest off and examined the clips, but they all look good.

In case anyone else has this problem, I was able to get rid of the noise by putting a tiny piece of cardpaper under the palmrest, near where it was creaking.

I can confirm that the same issue exist on my XPS 17. Very annoying and makes the laptop feel badly made
