I bought my daughter an L501X last Christmas. Just bought myself the L502X.
Looking at the drivers in each I noticed the 502 does not have the Desktop System Software utility listed under downloads. Is this correct, or has it been replaced or renamed?
I'm planning on doing a fresh install of the OS and I recall reading that the Desktop System Software was referred to as a "vital utility" and was the first driver that needed to be installed, at least when I was tweaking the 501.

Desktop System Software sound like garbage. Most things will work instantly on a fresh install anyways. Just install what you need to make everything work. Never let Dell scare you into installing their crapware.
