    Hey,

I got the L501 with the standard 720p screen and I am looking at buying a compatiable screen from a third party. I am aware I need a FHD cable as well.

My questions are; If I were to buy and install a compatiable screen and the FHD cable from a third party, would my warrenty be void?
Also since I would be connecting a new cable to my motherboard (the FHD replacing the standard one), is there any risk of short-term/long-term damage from doing this?

    Hey,

No, your warranty will not be void. However, Dell will not take care of the screen if it fails (obviously).

If you need to send your machine for repair, you should put the original screen in again to make sure you get it back. ;)
